Just something I was inspired to write one morning…
Once, there was a wolf who walked the land alone. None of the other wolves understood him, and therefore never wanted him around. Above the Earth was the moon and despite being surrounded by stars, she was always alone. The stars envied how brightly she shined and only spoke amongst themselves.
One night the wolf climbed up on a hill to relax. As he looked up he saw the moon full and bright. He was so inspired by her beauty, he began to howl in a joyful fashion. When the moon heard the wolf’s lovely song, she started to glow brighter than she’s ever had before. After that night the wolf continued to go to the hilltop and sing the song that made his beloved moon glow with happiness.
But, one night the wolf notice the moon was getting smaller; he’d hoped his song would cheer her up. Yet he was so distraught over her state his song came out a little somber. The moon knew he was worried, so she glowed brightly like always to ease his sadness. Every night the moon got smaller, the wolf’s song became sadder. One night he came to the hilltop only to find the moon wasn’t there, but he felt her presence. So he continued to sing in faith that she would return. Slowly, as the moon revealed her luminous face, the wolf’s song became cheerful again, until the moon came full again.
From that day own, neither the wolves nor the stars understood why the lone wolf and the moon continued this cycle. As long as they had each other, their love was the only thing that made sense.
