Made In His Image, What That really Means

  • by

While I don’t subscribe to the Bible entirely, it does make some very valid points if you learn to read in between the lines. Genesis 1:27 says : God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him… But what does that mean? Well let’s read in between the lines.

God is not a human being He is a spiritual being, meaning he transcends things beyond human understanding. I believe when they speak of “His image ” they aren’t talking about our physical appearance, they are referring to our souls. Our souls are in fact spiritual copies of the Creator, our bodies are merely a vessel in which we use to explore the physical realm. Many spiritual leaders and even doctors will tell you the importance of taking care of our mind, body and soul because when one aspect is not tended to the other parts won’t function correctly.

Example, when one does not take care of the body (nourishment, exercise, sleep) then it effects the mind, which has an influence on our soul. When the mind is not taken care of (mental health) then then we forget to take care of our bodies that house the soul. When we don’t tend to our soul (spiritual grounding) we let negative things enter our minds and abuse our bodies.

When we are given the gift of a soul from Creator we must remember to tend to it, we all have a purpose set out by Him and our souls need to be in top form in order to fulfill that purpose. In a sense we are an extension of Creator, there are many things He could do on this earth but He does not live in the physical realm, that’s where we come in. He creates a version of himself (soul) that can live and interact in the physical world so that we as humans can help others. That is our main purpose on this earth, it’s not about a purpose that only benefits the individual, one’s purpose will be fulfilled outside of one’s self. That’s why we are in His image.

Many people are “lost” souls, meaning they wonder about aimlessly following the ways of this temporary plain, not really opening themselves up to the energy of the universe. It’s a tough break if you’re an empath like myself and just happens to encounter a lost soul.  You try your hardest to do what you can to help, but realize they don’t want to get better, so you cut off ties and pray that they see their true potential. For many empaths we see ourselves as a tool for the universe or Creator to reach out to those who may need direction. In some cases, lost souls can be intimidated by this and treat the empath unkindly. We must remember that high spiritual energy can be too much for some who have never opened themselves up to it.

I now I’m ranting but I had a lot to deal with lately and begun to neglect my soul for a bit. I had to get back to tending to my whole self and now I’m ready to receive my blessings and hopefully be a blessing to someone else.
